BRADFORD City Football Club&#039s survival hopes have been boosted by United Co-operatives.
The society has agreed to bring forward the payment of its sponsorship for the Sunwin Stand, which was due to be renewed at the start of next season ? effectively giving the club an advance donation to help it through the summer.
At the same time, United has decided not to enforce the clause in its agreement with the club which reduces the sponsorship amount in the event of the team being relegated. This means that City will receive &#163 55,000 immediately, despite dropping to the Second Division.
United Chief Executive Peter Marks commented: "It would be a disaster for the city and the local community if Bradford City folded. We are determined to play our part in avoiding that outcome."
