A SPECIAL trailer is raising the profile of the Co-operative Group in the North East and Cumbria region.
The 14ft trailer bought by North Eastern & Cumbrian Co-op will be seen at over a dozen major events this summer. It displays the Group's main businesses together with responsible retailing initiatives including Fairtrade and community work.
Visitors can sample Fairtrade products and become Co-op members, taking advantage of discount offers.
The first venues for the trailer were Richmond Meet and the Northumberland Show at Corbridge, which attracted more than 25,000 people.
This month the trailer visits Shildon Carnival and Ashington Fair. In July it will be at Beamish, the Durham Miners' Gala, Blyth Show and Middlesbrough Mela. August events include Sunderland and Newcastle Melas, Whitby Regatta, Carlisle Food Fair and Cockermouth Show.
Our picture shows trailer staff Kerry Smith and Les Watchman at Richmond Meet.
