NOMINATIONS are being sought for an awards scheme, which will honour Scotland's local heroes.
The inaugural Scotmid Community Awards were launched in Edinburgh last week, with emphasis placed on rewarding those individuals who bring enthusiasm, energy and that extra level of commitment to the communities in which they live and work.
Scotmid Chief Executive Colin Bird (above) said: "We felt we should look to those people that live and work in our communities and recognise those that really make a difference. We want to hear about people who deserve to be rewarded for their goodness, determination and loyalty."
Nominees can be active in a range of things such as societies, voluntary work, churches, sports organisations ? in fact anything that has seen them make a positive contribution to the life in their area
Nomination forms are available in all Scotmid stores with the closing date for entries April 18th.
The main prize is a two-night break in Amsterdam with runners-up prizes of Scotmid vouchers.
