CO-OPERATIVES UK is seeking the views of its members and other interested organisations as part of a review of its Corporate Governance Code of Best Practice.
It is inviting submissions from co-operators on the following key issues:
? The role of co-operative directors
? The knowledge, skills and attributes needed for the job
? The role of the board in driving the enterprise forward
? The relationship between the board and management
? How to attract, recruit and appoint the best people while adhering to the principles of democratic board election
? Identifying the barriers to recruiting the best people
? How best to manage the relationships with members and other stakeholders
? The importance of governance in promoting the success of the enterprise.
Co-operatives UK will hold three public hearings to gather evidence and opinions. These are on 16th March in London, 20th March in Scotland and 26th April in Manchester.
