HEART of England Co-op has pledged &#163 5,000 towards Coventry&#039s Belgrade Theatre&#039s &#163 10 million scheme for an extension for a new 300-seat auditorium, rehearsal space and the refurbishment of the building.
The Belgrade is offering companies the opportunity to become a corporate founding partner by donating &#163 5,000. The Co-op&#039s donation was made through its ?Helping Hearts&#039 awards scheme, which distributes all its profits from the sale of tobacco products to good causes.
Richard Samson, Chief Executive of the Heart of England Co-op and a theatre trustee, said the society was pleased to support the theatre.
"The Belgrade has always played a vital role in Coventry life and we hope other local companies and organisations will follow our lead.".
