MIDLANDS Co-op milkmen have helped to raise £ 17,529 by offering to ?walk their customer's mile' as part of the Macmillan Miles Challenge.
Milkmen from Midlands Co-op Dairies raised this grand sum by asking their doorstep customers to sponsor them for every mile they paced on their daily round.
Macmillan Cancer Relief fundraiser, Bernadette Halton said: "It is wonderful having the support of such a hard-working group of people who are prepared to take on this extra task to raise money for local people living with cancer. Midlands Co-op has been very supportive of us as a charity in the past and it is a pleasure being able to work with the dairy during our Macmillan Miles event.`
Kate Fuller, assistant sales and marketing manager for Midlands Co-op Dairies commented: "We are delighted to be involved again this year and support a charity that directly benefits the local community in which we serve.`
