FORMER national and regional charity official Sarah Hill has been appointed Membership Manager at Leeds Co-op.

Sarah, from Harrogate, joins from the Alzheimer&#039s Society where she was the national charity&#039s Regional Manager overseeing the work of 14 Yorkshire branches.

Her career in the voluntary and community sector has included management and development posts with several local charities, national organisations such as Barnardo&#039s and she has worked on development projects with Oxfam and UNICEF in Albania.

Her new role with Leeds Co-op will involve developing and implementing the society&#039s membership strategy and working with members to ensure their needs continue to be met.

`I&#039m delighted to be part of a Movement that achieves commercial success without compromising the ideals and values on which it was built,` says Sarah. `I am looking forward, a great deal, to using my skills and experience to support and enable members to take an active role in the society that they jointly own.`
