CO-OPERATIVE Financial Services (CFS) won four categories and were shortlisted for seven at the Guardian/Observer Consumer Finance Awards.
Internet bank smile won Best Current Account Provider (On-line), Best Credit Card Provider and the ultimate honour Best Customer Service Overall. It was also short-listed in the Best Savings Account Provider category.
CIS won Best Car Insurance Provider and was runner-up in Best Home Insurance Provider while the bank was runner-up for Best Mortgage Provider and Best Independent Financial Adviser and short-listed for the Best Current Account (Off-line), Best Savings Account Provider and Best Customer Service Overall.
CFS Chief Executive Mervyn Pedelty, who received the awards from TV personality Alvin Hall at a ceremony in London, said: "This is a tremendous achievement for the whole of CFS.
"To have impressed such a financially sophisticated audience in this way bodes very well for the future of all our brands. I would like to thank everyone at CIS, the Co-operative Bank and smile for their hard work and dedication, which has made this magnificent achievement possible."
