NORTH Eastern & Cumbrian Co-op&#039s food and department store area managers swapped their business suits to dress as children&#039s characters for a day in aid of the Co-operative Group&#039s national childrens&#039 charity campaign.
The Co-op Caring Together campaign aims to raise &#163 500,000 during 2003 for the Association of Children&#039s Hospices.
Tigger, Pooh, the Mask, the Wombles, Mr Blobby, Postman Pat and the Smurfs could all be found encouraging Co-op staff and customers in Gateshead to part with their cash in aid of the charity.
Local beneficiaries will be St Oswalds Hospice, based in Newcastle, the Butterwick Hospice in Stockton and Cumbria&#039s Eden Valley Hospice.
