The July 14th press release announcing the 2012 International Summit of Cooperatives has received worldwide media coverage. News of the Summit caught the attention of journalists in Canada, the United States, France, Spain and other countries. Interestingly, the announcement received the greatest media coverage in Latin American countries (Mexico, Chile, Brazil)! Some members of the media are also seeking interviews to find out more about it. In Canada, a television interview was granted by Suzanne Gendron (in photo above), Vice-President, Executive Services to the CEO and Management Committee, at Desjardins Group (one of the Summit hosts). “The Summit is an opportunity to showcase the cooperative business model which, because of its far-reaching economic impact, is now more popular than ever, especially among the younger generation who value equality and mutual cooperation,” indicated Ms. Gendron.
