CUIAF’s aim is the development of animal farmers, improving production by reducing costs and increasing farmers income, and defending the rights of farmers. CUIAF has a network of milk and meat producers in order to co-ordinate activities for the economic production and livestock breeding to increase livestock production.  

The organisation was previously named the Iran Ranchers Agricultural Cooperative Companies Union (Ranchers Union).

CUIAF had 31 member societies in 2009 and 30 in 2006. They represent 1,350,000 individual farmer members. In 2011, they had 12 employees of which 5 were women and a turnover of USD 16 million. In 2011, their member societies had 250 employees of which 38 were women and a turnover of 420 million dollars.

They have increased the forage market by 25% and the milk and meat production by 90%.
