Mince pies already on shop shelves at Central England Co-op

'While not everyone will want to start thinking about the festive season yet, for those that do we have a great range ready in our stores'

With three months to go until Christmas, Central England Co-operative has started stocking mince pies in its stores after requests from customers.

The society usually begins stocking mince pies at the end of September but this year it decided to make them available earlier following enquiries received via shop staff, its customer service centre and social media channels.

The range includes Co-op deep filled for £1, Irresistible mince pieces from £2 and Free From mince pies from £1.99.

Store manager Kevin Morris said: “This year more than ever we have noticed lots of people asking when mince pies were going to be heading onto the shelves.

“So, after the number of requests began to rise, we decided to give people what they wanted to and put them on sale early.

“I have no doubt that mince pies and anything else Christmas related will fly off the shelves now that it is available.

“While not everyone will want to start thinking about the festive season yet, for those that do we have a great range ready in our stores.”

The Central England Co-op runs over 400 trading outlets across 16 counties.
