Employee Ownership Awards open for entries

Achievements of businesses owned by their employees to be recognised at gala dinner

The Employee Ownership Association (EOA) is calling for entries for the 2019 UK Employee Ownership Awards.

The awards celebrate employee-owned businesses whose “structure and culture empower employees to drive performance and share in the reward to the benefit of the individual, the business and the regional economy”.

Sponsored by consultancy firm and leading EOA member Baxendale, the awards recognise “the key characteristics of employee ownership: joint purpose and reward; productivity powered by people; increased engagement; good governance and culture”.

The UK Employee Ownership Awards will be presented at the EOA gala dinner on the first evening of the EOA conference on Monday 18 November 2019, at the Hilton Metropole, Birmingham. The categories are:

Employee Owner of the Year: This award recognises an employee, irrespective of seniority, who champions employee ownership both inside and outside of their organisation.

Employee Owned Rising Star of the Year: Celebrating the success of an organisation that has become employee owned no more than three years prior to the end of July 2019.

Employee Owned Business of the Year: For well-established employee owned businesses, this award recognises excellent performance where employee ownership is linked to success.

Public Service Mutual of the Year: This award recognises the most impressive group of employees to have changed from public sector to employee-led mutual, at least two years ago.

Employee Ownership Culture Award: This award celebrates an organisation that prioritises nurturing a culture of employee ownership as critical to its continued success.

Philip Baxendale Fellowship Award: Presented to a single individual who has previously, or is currently making an outstanding contribution to the growth of employee ownership in the UK.
