New president for Crédit Coopératif’s National Council

Danielle Desguées aims to strengthen ties with members during her two-year term

French co-operative bank Crédit Coopératif has appointed Danielle Desguées president of its National Council (CNCC) a body comprising members and partners that address the bank’s challenges, direction and activity.

Renowned for championing social entrepreneurship in France and Europe for more than 40 years, Ms Desguées takes the CNCC presidency for a two-year term, succeeding Christel Prado, who was elected in 2016. During her time as president, she will focus on strengthening ties with members and addressing their concerns.

Danielle Desguées co-founded the French national entrepreneurs support network, BGE, in 1979 and is director of the Paris-based support network BGE PaRIF. She has also been a member of the international social entrepreneurs network, Ashoka, since 2009. In 2016, she was ranked second in the Top 10 French Innovative Women survey by social and economic development media platform Youphil.

Through public outreach, programmes in schools and universities, and advisory services provided through a nationwide network, Danielle has helped more than 200,000 entrepreneurs start, sustain, and grow their businesses, while significantly changing the image of the social entrepreneur.
