The World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) has named Paul Treinen as its new chief operating officer, who will be responsible for the day-to-day tactical and operational management of the organisation.

Mr Treinen brings an experience of over 30 years in the co-operative financial sector, where he has focused on development and on-going business management. His work covered more than 20 countries throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.

A certified public accountant and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Mr Treinen graduated magna cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a business administration degree in accounting.

“We are very proud to have Paul join World Council. His many years of experience and leadership working with the international credit union movement position him well as he assumes this new role leading the operations for WOCCU,” said Dr Brian Branch, president and chief executive of WOCCU.
