The Co-operative College and the International Co-operative Alliance have joined together to give away free books on co-operation to co-operative schools in the UK. ‘Building a Better World: 100 stories of co-operation’ is the official book written to commemorate the United Nations International Year of Co-operatives (IYC) in 2012, and the organisations have 120 boxes of 14 books to give away.

A celebration of the co-operative enterprise model, the book brings together a collection of inspiring stories of co-operatives drawn from all around the globe and demonstrates how the co-op model not only survives, but flourishes in the face of crisis, whether economic downturn, humanitarian crises like civil war or natural disasters like earthquakes and drought. It paints a picture, in human terms, of a financial model for the future.
