Scotmid Co-op has reported a profit, following last year’s loss of £1.6 million. Parts of the business have been turned around to achieve a pre-tax profit of £3m compared to £0.1m last year and post-tax profit is £1m compared to a loss of £1.6m for 2007. The full results, for the year ended January 26th, show that operating surplus before exceptionals has nearly doubled to £6.7m compared to £3.5m for the same period last year.
