The Reserve Bank of India has imposed a monetary penalty on the Town Co-operative Bank based in Hoskote, Karnataka.
The co-op bank was found guilty of acquiring and using non-banking asset in violation of Sections 6 and 9 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.
It was also found violating RBI’s directives on loans and advances to directors, their relatives and firms and concerns in which the directors are interested.
