Fairness matters to everyone. We are born predisposed to sharing and trusting and are much the better for it. Of course, fairness can mean different things to different people, but it is informative (and welcome) that a recent poll of the British public found that the two areas where they would like to see more action by business are pay differentials and tax avoidance. These areas are ripe for the Co-operative Movement to not only ‘own’, but for it to assert meaningful points of difference – and we have leaders in our midst.
