UP: Sugar mills in distress

The finances of the UP sugar mills seem to be in a terrible mess at the moment. The sugar mills body of the state has called upon the state govt. help them to get to the end of their financial crisis.
The sugar mills have made a slew of suggestions including the payment of cash subsidy to them so they could overcome the immediate crisis.
They have cited the example of cooperative factories and UP cooperative banks receiving such a help in their financial difficulties in the past.
