AN energetic team from Midlands Co-op Travel combined their efforts to take a ride along the Tissington Trail in the Peak District to raise funds for their favourite staff selected charity Make A Wish, which raises money for children with life threatening illnesses.
Around 23 staff from across Derbyshire turned out on the day along with family, friends and partners to enjoy the day and made it round the 15 mile course in the amazing time of three hours! Debi Johnson regional sales manager for Midlands Co-op Travel, who organised the ride said: `We had a great time and the team spirit was excellent. Everyone wanted to do their bit to raise as much as possible, because we think Make A Wish does so much good work. We managed to have quite a few ice-creams and drinks as well to keep us cool, so it wasn't all hard work!`
`Altogether, we hope to raise £ 800 for the charity. We were even able to collect money, as we cycled along the route as well. Lots of walkers were cheering us on and giving us their support as we kept going, Keeping fit has never been such fun, although we did suffer a bit afterwards, but it was a brilliant way to raise more funds for the charity!`
