Store managers from the Co-operative Group were invited to attend a special “thank you” event at the House of Lords after raising £30,000 for the Ebola appeal.

With the help of its store network, the Group donated £29,357.40 to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ebola appeal, which has seen more than 10,000 deaths and 25,000 affected by the disease across West Africa.

The money from the appeal has helped provide treatment for those suffering, provided education about the disease and supported those who have survived the virus.

Co-operative Food store managers Anuj Christi from St Pauls and Akeem Akinleye from Stepney represented the Co-operative at the event, along with Leila O’Sullivan from the social goals and membership team.
